Featured Speaker: Chuck Porter

Prior to retirement, Chuck was the Managing Partner – CTO - Accenture Technology Infrastructure Services (ATIS). In this Global role, he was responsible for the architecture, technology direction and product definition for Accenture’s infrastructure outsourcing practice.  During his 30 year career with Accenture, he led some of the Firm’s largest and most technically complex projects.  He often performed the role of Quality Assurance Partner for Accenture’s largest, most innovative and complex client engagements.

Chuck remains an active leader with several boards of directors positions, CIO coach, venture capital advisor, educational program advisory positions.

Abstract:

Our keynote speaker, Chuck Porter, will kick-start our thinking about IT’s role in harnessing innovation to enable enterprises and organizations to better meet their strategic goals, such as profitability, productivity, efficiency or competitive advantage.
Following Mr. Porter’s dynamic opening remarks, Steve Brilling will facilitate a distinguished panel of existing and former CIOs to examine the responsibility and role of IT in capitalizing on innovation. Some specific questions that will be addressed are:

1.    What are the technologies emerging today?
2.    How does one keep up on emerging technologies?
3.    What is the difference between efficiency and innovation?
4.    Is IT leading or following in efforts to introduce and enable innovation?
5.    How do organizations refocus IT towards innovation? What are some challenges and coping strategies?
6.    What is the appetite of corporate America to take on new technology?
7.    What are the tried and true approaches in implementing new technology?
